While looking Back, I decided to create an archive page, but the website pages became to big and too many pages to leave on the website, so I decide to create this blog to add the events and so on, that we have had, over the last 7 years, which included Lockdown Stories from our crafters & artists..
I want to show you all that we can help and encourage others to take the first unknown step into a new business or job. Success has to be worked for, it just doesn't happen.

During Lockdown, I began to think about what had happened in Midtown Makers over the last 7 years. Both as a Crafter and as Manager. how many things have changed and how during Lockdown, we found ourselves in a scenario, that we never expected.
Talking to our Crafters and Artists, it was clear that spending time with loved ones was the hardest, missing new born Grandchildren was one of the biggest loss, here in Midtown. Four, first time Grandmas, were missing their new Granddaughters and Grandsons. as well as missing and worrying about their new parents and how they were coping. Missing holding them for the first time was hard, but then so was missing grandparents and parents. Zoom, Facetime, etc was a new concept that was mastered quickly, so that we could connect with those we loved and missed. But from this people became brave and went our of their normal comfort zone to help others, to care, to take time just to be there, even if it was waving through the window. Mobile phones became the best way to connect with all those who felt lost and lonely. It was a way of being a good friend, when someone needed you. People became creative, some Creatives lost their Mojo and found it hard to create. But, we made it through the first one with help from the weather, but the last one in the Winter of 2020, was a lot harder and now we are poised to come out of it the April 2021 and hopefully, we will be with the help of the Vaccine, will be able to become face to face friends again and get a well deserved and much lost Hug. So I have decided that I would start a wee blog, telling people about Midtown Makers, It's Crafters and the days we have had in Midtown Makers |
