Felting Crazy
Felting Crazy is the brand name of my one-woman business. It has been developing steadily over several years, but most significantly and rapidly since my moving to Northern Ireland in 2013.
Having retired at that point from my nursing career, I have had from then on the time not just to make and to sell but also to teach.
I have had a life-long interest in textile art and craft, and have enjoyed exploring a range of its aspects and areas - but it is felting, turning wool fibres into a fabric, that has become the main focus of my work.
I love the transformative process of felting; I feel there is a certain magic involved.
At Midtown Makers you can see a range of my work - from wearables to pictures to more practical items, with many items inspired by the wonderful land and seascapes of Northern Ireland.
I am delighted to undertake special commissions; and I also run workshops, either in small groups or one-to-one, in both wet and needle-felting.
Workshops can take place at Midtown Makers, or I am also happy to visit you or your group to teach - or to do a talk or demonstration.
